“As you see, this vault has an almost perfect mechanism for defeating most picking techniques, low tolerances, phantom false sets, and a rather complicated keyway. Now what I want to point out are the hinges on the door itself, they’re facing outwards. Little bit of liquid nitrogen and a ball peen hammer. We are in.”
Door was impenetrable but they cheaped out on the walls.
I legitimately had my players pull that one on me once. Door into a secret lab disguised as a closet was beyond their skill, warded by powerful magic, etc etc. They looked at the floor plan and saw that the closet protruded from the main wall a bit. “Why not go in through the side?” I hadn’t thought about it. I figured the villain hadn’t thought about it either. A simple pickax later and they were in.
I’ve seen doors taken down in many a way, but I can count on one hand how many actually targeted the hinges.
Blown off the hinges plenty of times, though.
I think the opening scene in equilibrium targeted the hinges. So one hand tracks for me too.
I have seen many doors open simply by attacking the latch with a credit card or piece of wire. As one pen tester said it. Locks are an effort, but doorframes are easy.
Even when a door is well hung, I have seen guys use a car jack to stretch the frame of the door, so they can pry open the latch.
Normally this lock would be unpickabale, but with this special tool Bosnian Bill and I made…
Meanwhile McNally is lubing up.
And today we’re using the dispel curse pick, available on my website
5 is binding…click!
In any case, that’s all I have for you…
But can you open a Lich Fortress with another Lich Fortress?
McNally has entered the chat
If the lich is dumb enough to use a mundane lock, there’s easier ways to get through it. I guess they could do that trick with Imprisonment (Minimus Containment) to get an indestructible gem, but you could still use Stone Shape.
The proper way to hide a phylactery is in a demiplane with a bunch of random knick knacks so people can never guess the “contents and purpose”.
Did you mean: impenetrable?
Probably not:
"impregnable
adjective
-
Capable of being impregnated, as the egg of an animal, or the ovule of a plant.
-
Not to be stormed, or taken by assault; incapable of being subdued; able to resist attack; unconquerable. “an impregnable fortress; impregnable virtue.” Similar: unconquerable
-
Too strong to be penetrated. "
Unzips pants. Well if I can’t penitrate the impregnable lock I’ll impregnate it instead!
Honestly; didn’t you read the definition? It says it’s too strong to be penetrated smh
