I’ve set my secondary DNS to cloudflare, and my pihole still blocked ads for me. I assumed the secondary DNS server is used only if the primary can’t be pinged. But i haven’t actually looked into it.
I was thinking about moving pihole off onto a docker container, and converting my pi to a streaming box. Thanks for posting this.
I have a fire stick and a roku device. The Firestick is a slow, ad ridden POS, the Roku UI is much more straightforward forward to me.
I am honestly surprised to see it recommended here on Lemmy. When I first heard of it, I went to their website to see what it’s all about. I assumed it would be another self hosted DNS service, not a paid proprietary cloud service.
