Except that, as I’ve already mentioned, I have two piholes, and sometimes both will be receiving requests. Based on your description, the second would never receive requests as long as the first is online. Perhaps this is router dependent, but it’s what I’ve observed.

Pretty much. Not sure how the router determines which DNS to use, but mine seems to latch onto whichever one serves up results the fastest, which would inevitably be cloudflare direct after the pihole returns enough blocks.

So I use a Raspberry Pi Zero W as a dedicated pihole, and my Pi 4 seedbox acts as its own pihole and as a redundant backup. Then use gravity-sync from the Zero to the 4 to mirror the settings.

I would avoid it, as it may use the alternate instead of the pihole at anytime. If you want redundancy, it’s best to have a second pihole.

Those proxies aren’t encrypted in any way, even if it’s one with user/pass authentication access. They’ll obfuscate your IP from other users, such as torrenters, but there’s a risk your ISP will still see unencrypted headers between you and the proxy.

Oh I don’t plan to switch either anytime soon, just making it known as a lightweight option that gets around the restrictions. I haven’t used Win11 beyond installing Tiny11 in a VM, so I’m entirely ignorant regarding any pros or cons about practical use of it.

edit: should add that there’s also a Tiny10, but for me the most recent one is stuck not installing some updates in the VM, still trying to work that out.

Good grief, I hadn’t heard about this kind of problem yet. Increasing glad my laptop is too old for it and my Windows volume is still on 10.

edit: though I should add that if it becomes necessary to update to 11, that Tiny11 doesn’t require TPM and has problematic things stripped out, and in a VM it seems to be updating properly without issues.

That’s why I said traditional customers, who, at least for the moment, also aren’t savvy enough for linux.

You appear to have conflated some of what I said, but I honestly don’t care enough to figure out where. Use whatever you want, it doesn’t matter to me, but casting Mullvad browser as pointless when it just doesn’t fit your particular needs or preferences is just ignorant.

You asked what we’re using, that’s what I’m using.

You can install Mullvad directly from its repo, not having account syncing ability or being able to turn certain things on or off is part of the security features. It’s the same for the Firefox Focus mobile browser. Mullvad is a midpoint between Librewolf and Tor Browser, incorporating letterboxing for anti-fingerprinting. If you want personal information saved for later sessions or synced, you need to use something else, like Librewolf or regular FF.
