It’s happening to me, too. No VPN. They always fix issues like this pretty quickly (couple days or so). It’s always a constant battle to handle youtube’s ongoing attempts to block them.

I’ll check and see if I can do that with this one!
I should have thought of that. Thanks! Ironically, I have a very old lead-acid UPS in the basement that I’ve been kind of afraid to plug in again after all this time.
Why removing the battery? I was thinking that could be one good thing about using a laptop is that in a way it has its own UPS.
I just installed Librewolf today, using it now. Being a fork of FF it makes a very smooth transition.
Yep after all that’s how musk did it by using trump as the symbolic figurehead
FreeTube is great! I’ll wait for the normal release which is soon enough for me–when these things happen I just check it every so often, knowing they’ll figure out how to fix it like they always do.
Back when they were first able to federate (if you can even call their one-way dissemination of propaganda into the fediverse “federating”), my Mastodon instance didn’t block them so I moved to another instance that blocked them from the get-go. I wanted an instance-level block to keep their shit off the server completely, not just an individual-level “block” which is more like ignoring than blocking.
My car is a 2012, I’ll be holding onto it until it falls apart.
The external player thing has never worked for me, at least when I set it to VLC, which just displays an error. I must be missing something.
Edit: thanks for the replies, next time I’ll try mpv and/or haruna
