What if Randall would sell $5 wrenches with XKCD logo?
And perhaps he has a willy.
Uhm… what was the topic again?
Thank you very much!
I installed it on my Raspi today and it has exactly what I miss in other Markdown web editors.
Exactly. Thats why I prefer Flatnotes. But there is still room for improvement like folders, tag-handling or storing images linked in md-files.
Wasn’t prepared to read about Günni in 2024 again.
Let’s invent password reveal day instead.

No, honestly I’m not an attacker, but your local bank. We just need your help to update our systems. Please provide us the following credentials to continue using our phish- *ugh* services.

For all who have no clue what it’s for (like me 5 minutes ago), it’s a “self-hosted photo and video backup solution”.
Sure, but Dave is a heavyweight in social media:
Dave was bragging to his boss one day, “You know, I know everyone there is to know. Just name someone, anyone, and I know them.”
Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff, “OK, Dave, how about Tom Cruise?”
“No dramas boss, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it.” So Dave and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise’s door, and Tom Cruise shouts,
“Dave! What’s happening? Great to see you! Come on in for a beer!”
Although impressed, Dave’s boss is still skeptical. After they leave Cruise’s house, he tells Dave that he thinks him knowing Cruise was just lucky.
“No, no, just name anyone else,” Dave says.
“President Obama,” his boss quickly retorts.
“Yup,” Dave says, “Old buddies, let’s fly out to Washington,” and off they go.
At the White House, Obama spots Dave on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying, “Dave, what a surprise, I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let’s have a beer first and catch up.”
Well, the boss is very shaken by now but still not totally convinced. After they leave the White House grounds he expresses his doubts to Dave, who again implores him to name anyone else.
“Pope Francis,” his boss replies.
“Sure!” says Dave. “I’ve known the Pope for years.” So off they fly to Rome.
Dave and his boss are assembled with the masses at the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square when Dave says, “This will never work. I can’t catch the Pope’s eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards so let me just go upstairs and I’ll come out on the balcony with the Pope.” He disappears into the crowd headed towards the Vatican.
Sure enough, half an hour later Dave emerges with the Pope on the balcony, but by the time Dave returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics.
Making his way to his boss’ side, Dave asks him, “What happened?”
His boss looks up and says, “It was the final straw… you and the Pope came out on to the balcony and the man next to me said, who the fuck is that on the balcony with Dave?”
That’s what I got as text to ai image with prompt: Ronald McDonald serves knuckle sandwich
That was the case for me. I had a nextcloud setup with a few productivity apps (calendar, contacts, notes, some 3rd party). In one case I forgot to deactivate apps before update and it crashed. In another case I deactivated it first to find out they are partially not usable anymore after update.
Now I try it with one container app for one use case (seafile, baikal etc.).
Currently I play around with a Raspi 4 8GB with docker-compose. Most services are accessible with VPN only:
Caddy (as easy reverse proxy)
Portainer (container dashboard)
Linkding (bookmarks)
Baikal (calendar, todo list to sync with Android by caldav)
Agendav (web calendar frontend)
Dillinger (browser markdown editor with PDF export)
Trilium (note app)
Syncthing (google drive/onedrive alternative)
Seafile (file sharing)
Jellyfin (media server)
That explains so many subs/comments. But maybe I’m out of touch like Skinner.
But on topic: I see the same problem as with link shorteners. One single service or extension disappears and all good content or links are gone.
Thank you. By searching for a perfectly technical solution, parents could lose track of additionally classical parenting like good communications with their children from an early age, friendly interest in their online activities and teaching them that there is sometimes disturbing content online, but you are always there for them to talk without judgement. Anyway I would suggest a few technical solutions like (already mentioned) routers DNS filter and default search engines suitable for children.
Thank you. Maybe it could be improved by externalizing user credentials with docker secrets: https://docs.docker.com/compose/use-secrets/
I know it was meant quick and dirty. Just for anybody who uses the script as an approach for their self-hosting solution.
But at least with plane language it’s not Boeing anymore.
Maybe https://dillinger.io/ as a self-hosted raspberrypi docker instance? And instead of saving to public cloud services just export the markdown file as local pdf.
On mobile I can’t just find pdf export button like on desktop.
I thought satan looks like that
