When changing biometric data on the iPhone, it locks you out of using it in other apps, making you put in your bank/other specific password.

Both of those require their own password or biometrics, so you couldn’t access those either.
In order to turn off the Find My iPhone functionality, you need the Apple ID password, so this isn’t even a real concern. You can even remotely lock the phone with a new password. Apple has made stealing an iPhone and making it work afterwards very hard.
If it’s made in flutter, doesn’t that mean you easily publish it to the iOS App Store? Isn’t the main point of flutter to publish to both iOS and Android?
Huh? Use the remote app on your phone. It automatically pops up like a notification when there’s a text box on the screen. So easy. You can turn the box off by holding the power button for a few seconds. To close apps, you double tap the TV button and then it’s an iOS like interface that you scroll over and swipe up on the ones you want to close.
The UI is very minimal and the same across most all apps, so it’s easy to learn and use. It may be missing some power features, but most things are accessed via clicking of just holding.
I don’t understand what you’re getting at or trying to say. You’re not making sense.
Do you know how sandboxed file system storage works? Have you ever made an application? Do you think things that run on the cloud have access to everything else on the cloud? I’m not sure what you’re getting at.
Huh? I don’t give apps like YouTube access to my files. I don’t upload so they don’t need it. I don’t even think it has asked because I’m not clicking the upload button. YouTube doesn’t get access to my location either. It does have access to local connections because of YouTube on my TV, but that’s it.
Apple does not allow this out of the box. You have to confirm for every permission. There is not automatic access to files.
Huh? That’s just wrong.
youtube.com/watch?v=FOO&si=BAR would be shortened to just youtu.be/FOO?si=BAR
The link to other people’s account is in the &si=BAR part. Probably standing for “share ID” or “source ID”or something. The shortened link is just the same as the long one with watch?v=FOO being included in the URL instead of the parameters.
That is 100% wrong. Did you read the tweets or even look at a single YouTube URL?

Exactly. A website has to download ALL the HTML every time. Sure, it can put all that in a JavaScript file and cache it but it has to be built each time. With an app, you (the devs) get to choose what to load, and it’s just usually a few simple things each time instead of constantly running a script.
Using Lemmy as a web app really sucked. Having an actual app with actual integration to a robust UI works.
Yo!! I think I met you at a convention in San Francisco on Easter weekend this year (or was it last year?)! I’m glad to see this taking off!!
Nice, but what’s the Weissman score?
I use an Apple Watch. It regularly (about every 2 weeks) to review who and what data I’m sharing with studies. I can easily opt out again, and the system is opt in only.
Is there a guide for setting up a DMZ? I have a Nest cam for our dog (bought wayyy before Google bought them out) and use HomeKit for everything that allows it, but those devices have their own apps too so they have almost unfettered access to the net. I like having my AC on internet so I can turn it on/off when I’m not home in case I forgot to turn it on that morning (living in the PNW, so we don’t need it every day in the summer, as open windows are good enough and free), so I get home to a moderately cooled place rather than a hot box.
Yea, I don’t need anything but a register to the site and access to the DNS record to point to an IP that I can change sometimes. No special anything past that.
How do I do this? I currently pay for a google domain at a cheap rate of like $13 a year. I want to keep it cheap and make sure I can just point it to my box.

Do you have a source for the “even when your device is supposedly off” part? I know iPhones have tracking enabled when off, but there’s no way they’re using Bluetooth to find these devices and reporting back. I can’t find a source for that at all.
But even then, it’s still pretty private because there’s no way to reverse track an AirTag. I don’t even think they can do that internally at Apple.
