I’m not saying it’s a direct hit piece but it feels like people are being incentivized to write articles that paint Firefox in a negative light. Also I think a lot of these were attempts at making money outside of Google
main account for candyman337@lemmy.world because it’s down so often

These are more because they basically fizzled out or the company they were working with decided to stop working with them rather than just shutting down services that people use unlike Google. Once again seems like a Firefox hit piece similar to others that have been cropping up everywhere
Yeah feels a bit intentional
What’s with the influx of anti Firefox posts here? Really weird. Especially since yes everything is in their learn more stuff.
Immich is a really good self hosted option
Good to know, thanks, I’ll check out upwork. I just got laid off and they gave me basically no severance, so, I’d love to find something quick lol
Where do you get jobs from?
Ok but a lot the example images shown here that people are saying are AI images have clearly been edited. People are basically saying something looks off with the faces.
The other people just happen to have a feature that is in a slightly unusual place.
To me this seems like people conflate something feeling off with the image being AI generated
I’m not SUPER concerned about privacy tbh, I mean I care about it, but I’ll make some concessions for the sake of convenience, like in the form of a mozilla account to transfer settings and addon’s between computers. So I probably wouldn’t be a good example, but I use waterfox, it recently just went independent after being bought by a company awhile back, and I like it. But if you’re looking for a privacy/security focused browser librefox I hear is a good one. It’s based on firefox and has a lot of security features built in by default.
If you’re looking for a VPN solution I highly recommend mullvad vpn, super secure, makes an effort to respect your privacy, and is genuinely one of the fastest vpns I’ve used.
It’s got crypto, scammy stuff built it
They tout themselves as being a private browser but also harvest a lot of your data
Last I used it the browser was also kind of glitchy
They’re chromium so they’re still bound by the whims of Google anyway
I take issue with this because the devil is usually in the details with ai images and these are all low rez jpgs making it harder to tell with some of these.
Oh man I’ve been looking for something like this, hell yeah
You couldn’t pay me dawg
After doing some testing, there were a few things that could have caused it, I had a lot of saved sessions from one extension, I cleared those out and lowered the amount of sessions it can store, I had a session app that would cloudsync my sessions, and I noticed when it was syncing another tab manager extension I was using shit the bed so I disabled the cloudsynver one, and I good ol reddit enhancement suite and moderator toolbox were still enabled, and for some reason it seems one of those two were bogging down other things quite a bit.
As of now it’s running muuuuch more smoothly
Maybe it’s an issue with my PC or an extension then, bummer
Unless you have several tabs open then it begins to bog down
Edit: I was speaking from real world experience with both, I’m a power user so my issues are probably an edge case but I have more issues with Firefox hanging than I did chrome. Despite that I won’t be switching back to chrome as I don’t like their recent push towards drm and disabling ad blocked
Thank you!
THAT’S WHATS DRAINING MY BATTERY! I’ve been trying to figure it out, I knew it was draining quicker because of that but never really our two and two together
