Edit: to clarify, Lemmy is not set up to make or view microblog style posts. Therefore we don’t see into that side of the fediverse from Lemmy. However, my understanding is that Mastadon users can follow communities on Lemmy as if they’re a microblog account, with all posts and comments from that community coming in as one steam in chronological order. So compatibility isn’t great over there either. They can also make posts in Lemmy communities by tagging it in their post. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Edit: correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they misunderstood the abbreviation “cctv”. Mixing up “closed-circuit” and “closed-captioned”.

I still think they are but maybe my needs are simple. It was definitely better when I switched over (from godaddy*) during one of the migrations.

I was very disheartened to see people switch from Kijiji (Canada). However I thinj it depends on what you’re looking for and where you are. I’ve checked Marketplace with my partner’s account and at least for where I live and my hobby Kijiji is still used.

Ultimately you need only a tiny fraction of that data to emulate the human brain.

Together with Firefish developer Namekuji, Panos Damelos have started the Catodon project, a fork of Firefish. In the announcement blog post Catodon dives deeper into what makes the project stand out, noting the community driven aspect of the project. Catodon joins IceShrimp and Sharkey as recent Misskey fork projects that are all gaining popularity as small-scale fediverse servers.
