Their resell value is ass, but that’s good for consumers. My brother bought a Pixel 5 for $165 recently off of swappa.com
No, because those don’t have social media functions built in. Snapchat has those TikTok slideshows and ads among posting pictures of yourself too. It’s more of an all in one that many use
It’s the WhatsApp equivalent in the US tbh. People ask for each other’s Snapchat instead of numbers sometimes these days

But I more meant that Apple kinda has too much control over their own iOS. Google even allows different flavors of Android to exist like OneUI, NothingOS, or even all the Chinese ones too.
The end result is a locked ecosystem though. The open source nature of Android makes this a bit harder to regulate for Google.

It just depends on the person. I wouldn’t put my mom on Linux for example, but I would consider her a casual user.
As much as I love Linux, I can’t really suggest it to casual users because I would end up being tech support for every issue. I’d suggest it to slightly more advanced users who know the basics of troubleshooting.
It’s easier to do in more rural or remote areas but cities and suburbs make it a bit harder. US prices are also fucked. I’m currently paying $62/month for 100 down and 10 up and that’s the cheapest option around us.
