I do some small-scale solar installs and the rate of pricing decline is insane. Even in a world where everything is getting more expensive, solar panels, electronics, and batteries all continue to rapidly fall in price.

Many distros are run by large companies that don’t care. RedHat, Canonical, etc.

You can bag up whoever you want, they can’t give you info they don’t have. That’s the entire point.

17·20 days agoI’ve gotten into it with tankies time and time again over Signal. They point to all this hypothetical nonsense repeatedly and then refuse to provide evidence. Signal, on the other hand, has proven that they either don’t have this info or don’t provide it over and over again through publicly-disclosed subpoenas, but the tankies continue to push this propaganda, which one can only reasonably conclude that they’re bad-faith actors and just “haters” of all things American.

7·27 days agoHey I am an outdoorsman and I find it difficult to find data about rain, specifically quantity of rain, hourly and daily. Is there a good way I can access this info from your site?
Find me another mail provider that’s defies court orders and you’ll find one that no longer exists.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Lenovo’s New ThinkPads Score 10/10 for RepairabilityEnglish
2·1 month agohardware has been converted to manufacturing datacenter variants of this hardware.
Some of it has. Not all of it (except for Micron).
nor would it crater consumer hardware demand.
It doesn’t have to. It seems we both agree that server hardware demand clearly impacts consumer supply, and yet for some reason you seem to think this is a one-way street?
It takes time and money to convert manufacturing capacity between consumer hardware to datacenter hardware.
And yet, they did it, very quickly, and will do so again when the market shifts again.

2·1 month agonone of the product will be compatible with consumer devices.
…why would it need to be?
I suspect the datacenters will just pivot and repurposed to rent consumers “cloud compute” and cloud subscription services and continue to fuck the entire consumer market for years to come.
I mean they already have been and will continue to be, yes.
