From everything ive seen he’s not actually apologized TO the women he abused, he has only ever really made public apologies where he says “this is all true, i thought I was okay by asking for consent beforehand” when there is credible reporting that on multiple occasions he did not even bother to ask for consent.

Just going to add on, that in the YouTube series linked above that there is a direct comparison of how Loius and Dan Harmon both handled it and that you’ve summarized the differences quite well

Basically compares the allegations as detailed in the initial reporting with jokes, podcast, and radio appearances that Louis has done in the past as well as his actions and statements after the allegations were made public. And the obviously biased and very condensed version i can give you is that there are several stories he told on opie and anthony about events that bear enough resemblance to the allegations to determine that there are likely more victims who have never come forward and never been recognized and that Louis has been working to minimize how this negatively impacts him without ever going so far as to actually try to make amends with the women he abused.

If you are tempted to watch some I’d say start at the beginning and around the first time you catch yourself thinking “this fucking guy” after a clip of Louis telling a “funny” story on a podcast back before the allegations came out, then you’ve got the gist and the rest of it is just stacking more receipts

Can’t recommend this series enough, does it need to be over 5hrs, not really, but it does paint a very thorough picture of the whole timing of Louie’s misconduct and his response to being exposed

Just taking this opportunity to remind everyone that Louis C.K. has never made any tangible steps to make amends with the women he abused and yet he still goes on podcasts and talks about how the reporting on his sexual misconduct damaged his life and reputation as though he is the true victim

Ive got a reverse proxy config that was available in the Audiobookshelf github documentation, I was mainly struggling to understand how to get all of the parts working together. Thanks for the help

Is 172.17.0.1 like dockers loopback for its own services?

I had considered the VPN route, but i think its enough of a technical hurdle for other people that it would stop my parents and friends from being able/willing to get onto the audiobookshelf server

I had considered not using nginx for precisely those reasons, but like the plex server i want to make it available to my family and friends and so the nginx reverse proxy build seemed to be the most widely applicable and still secure option so I only need to tell them to download audiobookshelf and point it at the correct domain name.

When you mention running the whole thing as a single stack does that mean getting all of it running inside a single docker container such that it only takes the 1 docker run command? Is it a requirement to get them able to talk or just a more elegant way to have the entirety of the server running in a singular container instead of spread across several?

I know, and that’s on my to-do list, but I wanted to get this up and running at least once before upgrading and potentially having to start from square 1.
