Privacy@lemmy.ml•What's a good VPN service that is reliable in terms of connection quality?
8·8 days agoI read the leaked email sent to Proton staff. It reads like ‘use ai or else’. The thing I don’t like about this is the more a human uses AI for coding, the more deskilled they get. Eventually, the AI will add something that the human doesn’t have the knowledge to recognize as an error.

3·8 days agoOne of the co-founders, Daniel, donated around a half mil USD to a far right political party in Sweden. They have ignored calls to remove Daniel.
I started looking at my installed apps. Very disappointing how many use claude or copilot contributions.
Ad id has been deleted, keeps telling me my ad id is an issue.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Droidify needs to update descriptions on apps when they obtain trackers.
3·30 days agoExodus is showing no trackers for Tuta and Droidify. 1 for Pipepipe which is used for crash reporting. I haven’t check any of the other listed.
I’ve used Nextdns once in a while and nothing appears for these apps.
Once I changed Ironfox’s DNS from Max to Default the browser runs great.
I don’t care what you believe. Several people in this thread dont use Ironfox because of its slow performance.
I’ll try disabling its DNS, thanks.
Edit: I’ve installed Ironfox once again. This time with “Default Protection” under DNS over HTTPS. I’m surprised how fast the browser is. It might even be a tiny bit faster than Brave.
UBO was installed. Last time I tried Ironfox was perhaps two weeks ago.
Your bigotry towards Zoomers and Alphas is pretty shitty.
I use LibreWolf on desktop but Ironfox is far too slow on GrapheneOS.
Ironfox on my GOS takes about 1-2 minutes to load a webpage. Even with a fresh install and no mods done to UBO. That’s longer than Tor browser takes to load the same page. No joke, I timed several pages with a stopwatch.
Until Ironfox gets their stuff together, I’ll be using Brave.
Edit: Seems Ironfox’s slowness is due to their DNS resolver. I turned that off and it’s quick. Later today, I’m installing another profile in Librewolf so I can sync with Ironfox and ditching Brave on my Android.
About the only thing I’ve noticed is sometimes I’ll tap the display but it doesn’t light up. I had this issue on my 6a. It’s more frequent on my 10a. Pressing the power button turns on the display. A reboot temporarily fixing the problem.
My dad has a 6a running GrapheneOS and hasn’t mentioned this happening to him.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Which browser is the most secure and collects the least data?
0·1 month agoFor a secure browser, I run Brave on my Android and Librewolf on my laptop. This is my login browser for social, email, etc. I’m not too concerned about the browser as the sites are the more privacy invasive issue.
My other browser is my main browser and deletes all data on exit. This one I want more privacy. Currently, I’m using Tor. Brave is installed for when Tor gets blocked.

0·1 month agoYou’re welcome. Fingers crossed.
I don’t wish to add complication but Calyx paused all updates for 11 months but they are back. This could happen again which would force you to either have an insecure OS or install something else. More details on Wikipedia.
