I’ve been really enjoying the Proton suite of mail, drive, and VPN. Don’t use proton pass because I have to log in to sites from locked-down systems too often, but the aliases tool in Proton Mail is great.

Yeah, I would prefer not to use Google, so I’m going to figure out how to use another authenticator. I wish Proton had the ability to be an authenticator, but I haven’t seen a way to do that yet.
But all my family has a Google account, so it just makes things easier.

I just got this working today and can say it’s quite an elegant solution. It means anyone with a Google account (that I allow through Cloudflare settings) can take advantage of immich. I plan to be the storage server for my family so they can have automatic photo backups.
If you decide to go that route and have questions, hit me up. I spent a while troubleshooting issues caused by not creating a SaaS application in Cloudflare, so read the directions exactly.

Windows 11 kinda sucks, I don’t know why it’s so hard for them to design a consistent UI, but I’ve not seen this ad nonsense.

I am super annoyed when the “turn of ad blocker” popup shows itself. They’d get many more users by not using that and serving ads from the same domain as searches. I get that they have to pay for their services somehow.
How is Mozilla questionable?

Yeah, but $10 a month is a lot. And the $5 plan for only 300 searches a month goes by really fast if you have to do any kind of research for anything. Even for trying to figure out what brand of something to buy, you blow through those searches super quick.
Tbf, that could just be the MyQ app. I recently moved into a house that had that system installed in the garage and I spent hours trying to get the damn thing to work. The app and the system are hot garbage.
Ended up ditching it for a Meross garage opener which is much more consistent.
That’s not what Apple wants it to be or is advertising it as at all. They don’t expect people to be wearing it all the time when they’re out doing things.
It’s meant to be a supplement to laptops/desktops, then eventually a replacement (I don’t think headsets will ever fully replace traditional computers though).
It’s first and foremost a VR headset with really good AR and video passthrough. They’re not glasses. Apple just doesn’t want you to think that it’s VR because they’ve decided they always have to be “special.”
