I would have never even thought of checking that. That’s very surprising.

Wait, not every phone has compass hardware?
I absolutely despise it when people say “should have known better” when companies mess up. Not everyone is going to spend weeks researching obscure information before buying a phone.
Interesting. I’ll try with a few different VPN points.
Sorry for the typo, I meant scraper. A web scraper is a tool to collect data from websites.
Never heard of it, thanks for the tip.
Noticed that. It used to be easy to bypass, because old.reddit.com allowed me to go there with a VPN, but they recently patched it. I found that changing the user agent to make it look like you’re on Chrome and Windows, alongside with US/Canada VPNs tend to get around this, but it isn’t very reliable.
Stealth used to work for a while, but not anymore either.
They are doing it to stop scrappers scrapers and punishing people who use a VPN is just a bonus to them.
I never understood why people care so much for wireless charging. It’s less efficient, therefore you heat your device more which shortens the longevity of the battery, you charge slower, and if you move the device slightly, it won’t charge, therefore it’s less reliable (unless there is a magnet array like apple). Sure, it’s useful in a pinch, but is it really a make or break feature?
My name is John Doe, it’s totally my real name.
I was under the impression cops prefer people not carry a phone with them so they can’t document cop crimes…
Orgzly is a great notes app. Zero complaints.
I love Retro Music Player, it’s almost perfect.
Ok. I’m a bad person because I enjoy using a given browser. I get that.
This is a straw man argument; no one said you’re a bad person for using a certain browser.
nobody cares about your “friendly remainders”. We’re talking about software here, not politics.
This is what they are criticising you about. You could be using Edge or Chrome, it wouldn’t matter here, that wouldn’t make you a bad person. The point is that pretending there is no connection when there is clearly a huge relevance here is massive.
Neural Processing Unit. Basically AI processor inside the chip, alongside your CPU and GPU.
Linux ≠ Linux Desktop
I’m aware, I was just explaining my experience back in 2007. It was like moving to a new country where things work differently and the attitude needed was very different from what I am used to.
Like I said, at the time I didn’t even know what open source meant and assumed that Linux is a product, and Ubuntu was the company that made it. I know better now, but back then I just saw it as a “replace Windows without spending money”. Also I was a teenager, and I would have pirated anything back then without a second thought even if it weren’t free.
Also, since Linux is so widely used by corporations, they fund its development, so I prefer to donate the small amounts of money I can to smaller projects.
I wasn’t satisfied with Windows Vista, but didn’t want to be forever stuck with XP, wasn’t going to buy a Mac because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money when I had a reasonable computer already… Found out about Linux and tried it. Funnily enough, I had used it for almost a year without actually knowing what open source meant, or what source is… I just saw it as “Ubuntu is free and isn’t Windows”.
Yeah, took me by surprise to see thunderbird on my phone. I remember talks about K9 planning to join the Thunderbird project and got excited, but completely forgot about it until I saw it on my phone.
