Pretty much yeah, or rather your in the minority. Clickbait exists because it’s unreasonably effective. There have been multiple videos detailing this with real world channels

Your not too dumb to learn linux. I know it seems scary, and a lot of the autistic people that like it will try to convince you it’s only for really smart people. But at the end of the day a lot of basic tasks are actually easier on linux. There are some that are harder gaming used to be very difficult for example. Although thanks to valve, and the steam deck for the most part if it’s a steam game you can just click play and it’s probably going to work.
But as an example of a more basic thing, let’s say you want to install an application.
Windows: go to Google, type app name, make sure it’s the real actual website officially for that app and not a sponsored result or some other fake website, find the download, pray it’s not buried in a bunch of fake download buttons, double click the exe, be careful to make sure it’s not installing any toolbars or other packaged bullshit, finally get your application.
Linux: there are some variations (apt dnf pacman) but all of them work the same, for arch it’s “pacman -Syu <name of app>” id argue thats WAY easier. If it’s not in the main repos chances are high it’s in the AUR (arch user repository) so you just yay -Syu <name of app>. It’s not harder (imo) just different.
I’ve actually had a number of pretty average computer user friends let me help them transition to Linux because of the crap Windows is doing lately. And after getting used to the differences they agree that Linux is not actually harder, it’s just different, they grew up with windows, they are used to how things are done on windows, so it seemed difficult just because it wasn’t the same. But once they got used to it they would actually agree that a lot of things are actually easier.
Now whether or not you want to put in that time to learn those differences, and change how you use your computer, is an entirely different question that you have to ask yourself. But you are not too stupid to learn Linux because realistically it’s not any more difficult than Windows is
I mean, None of these appeared to specifically be about the air tag. But it is at least does help show a general overall commitment to security. So it’s not as if it’s not a huge point in favor of trusting that the airtag data is safe
Have you verified their encryption method? Where is the source code? Where is the third party public audit that verifies that it’s implemented properly with no other means of access?
Blindly trusting that they say it’s encrypted is basically the same as no encryption
This, I have been using it for many many years. I wouldn’t call it perfect but it’s better than the other options in my opinion
I don’t just mean the voice, even just HOW it gives directions. Google maps gives you multiple warnings for a turn , one way before, one approaching, one right at. It also will often tell you which lane to take a turn in if multiple exist (use the second from the left lane to turn left) if your next turn is right after with little warning.
It’s been a hot minute so i can try again to see if it’s changed but directions were terrible with little extra warning and no taking the next direction into account.
The map was also just… Messy, little outlines for buildings everywhere a bunch of random green squares all over the map that I couldn’t figure out how to turn off and wasn’t even sure what they were meant to represent other than they seemed to roughly correspond with grassy or treed areas but for using it as a navigation app that is extremely annoying because it just makes the whole map of cluttered mess and makes it difficult to really tell what I’m looking at when I’m trying to drive and need to see my next Direction quickly and easily at a glance
I genuinely don’t understand how anyone can believe this, I keep trying it over and over and over and it fails on the absolute most basic of business searches. And some of the directions it gives are just completely nonsensical, and it’s voice guidance is absolutely terrible making it fairly easy to miss a Direction if you’re not able to be looking at the screen
I hate giving my location to Google but at the end of the day they are still the only GPS navigation that doesn’t suck at basic navigation
Usually it’s one flag that actually does something, surrounded by about 8 to 9 flags that do absolutely nothing. “flag soup” as developers like to call it. People add all of them at once and so they assume all of them are doing something when in reality only one of them did anything at all
No need, you can just look at the source code and see that that flag is not defined anywhere. It’s not going to do anything it’s not even being parsed it’s just getting ignored. The creator of dxvk complains about this all the time. People piling on completely useless or redundant flags and spreading them everywhere.
Honestly the site is kind of useless, every time I look at it games that work perfectly out of the box with no changes will practically say that they don’t work at all and vice versa games that don’t work at all will say they run without issue.
Not to mention the amount of people putting literally fucking hundreds of completely worthless flags that actually do literally nothing whatsoever in the code swearing left right and Center that it does something. I kind of wish that site would just disappear
I mean with next cloud and immich it doesn’t really matter if they are popular. Those are services that you host for yourself for you to use generally by yourself.
Immich I could see someone using if they’re already familiar with Google photos, so long as someone else handled the setup and maintenance of it of course
I hate this recommendation because Matrix is just a terrible user experience. It has basically nothing of value over Discord other than being open source. Which is important but it’s not enough to counteract the amount of basic quality of life stuff that is just absolutely trash garbage on Matrix. Stuff that no normal user is going to put up with.
If Discord does end up completely eviscerating itself the replacement will just be some new upstart closed Source program that is shiny just like how Discord took over from Slack it will not be the rise of Open Source because open source developers have no concept of user experience.
I mean we don’t even need to start talking about how bad all the client options are and how half the features don’t work and all that. You can look no further than the login system. Average users do not like want or accept having multiple options for logging in. There’s a reason that irc, teamspeak, mumble despite in many ways being objectively Superior especially in the case of the voice chats ended up relegated to only nerds like us. Because no one else is willing to deal with keeping track of servers to connect with or how to cross join or add users.
Same reason that Lemmy is like 90% technical users that are already invested in something like Linux. The average user got frustrated by how fragmented everything is how many duplicate channels and content you would find between instances and how difficult it was to search instances in the first place. I am here because I can ultimately work around those emoians, but the average person? Is not willing to and they shouldn’t have to
I just wish it would stabilize. I’ve been using it but half the time indo a docker-compose pull it breaks
Gonna have to disagree. Telegram is the ONLY chat app with ACTUALLY NATIVE code clients on desktop and mobile. Its the only one that isn’t website in a box trash that’s slow heavy and buggy. I use discord mostly because it’s where everyone is but i fucking hate everything about it and wish people would use telegram.
If you think other chat apps don’t read/process metadata from your dms and such your an idiot. Nothing is safe short of self hosted matrix with full E2E encryption or similar and ain’t nobody doing that.
I mean to be fair it’s still terrible. Better than the early days and in my opinion better than using Reddit which is why I’m here. But basic functionality is just awful. Trying to discover new content outside of your particular instances incredibly tedious. So many large instances won’t stop trigger happy Banning practically every other goddamn instance out there which isn’t helping. The whole thing that originally made Reddit popular was that it was an easy place to go to find almost any topic of Interest but I now have to hunt through many different instances to potentially find what I’m looking for on top of that the community for any one particular interest could easily be scattered across multiple different instances that don’t Federate with each other and if I subscribe to all of them I’m going to likely be subjected to a lot of repeating posts
I fully understand why a lot of people were not on board with that I put up with it because I hate Reddit more than I hate that but a lot of people will not share that opinion
I didn’t realize that next Cloud was so bad, might I recommend people having issues try Seafile? Also open source and I’ve been using it for many years without issues. It doesn’t have as many features and it doesn’t look as shiny but it’s rock solid
Have a random meme from my instance
If all you want is files and sharing try Seafile
If you just want file storage Seafile. Idk about all the other crap it can do but id imagine there are plenty of good options for each one. Immich is great if your mostly concerned about pictures/videos for example
Sooooo whos dick was she sucking to be allowed to keep playing
