Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do you prefer bare bones software that you customize with plugins, or an all-in-one solution that does everything you need out of the box?English
1·17 days agoMy preference is usually a big kitchen sink application. I dont care about the application size and resources as I’m not anywhere near being resource constrained yet.
Wow thats awesome I’m so happy for you.

Wow I had no idea how many services they provide and they do some serious numbers.
When ive used a project for a while and i have extra cash I usually do a 20$ donation. Ive been low on money last year so I only donated to a few of the projects, listenbrainz and Lemmy.
Ideally I want to donate a small amount yearly to all the projects I use.

I got a year of ultimate plan for half price and moved everything over. Now im having to move away because its way to expensive for what it is and this is while they’re still fighting for market share.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Russia has completed its nuclear-powered Burevestnik cruise missile, which NATO sees as a major threat due to its unlimited range and high manoeuvrability.
4·5 months agoThe manoeuvrability is only on the accent as the missile is blinded by the plasma on reentry. Its still very interceptable. As soon as its launched NATO will be tracking it.
Time for russia to rattle their new temu saber and Trump is such a spineless cunt he’ll cave instantly.
This is kind of an info dump and I havent fully gone through to verify everything but this is a guide from a trusted ytber explaining step by step how he setup and managed his self hosting environment.
For a more bite sized entry into self hosting just join the community (like you are now) and learn about the different services people are hosting and when one sounds good then look into how to set it up and ask questions along the way.

Let me guess its paid for and run by China and the service looks cheap now but will grow more expensive.
They should have explained African Digital Protocol (ADP) more because from my brief searching this is not “its own internet” its just non US owned datacenters and telcos.

6·8 months agoIf you’re using open source software for business you should pay the licence if you can $20 a month isnt a huge ask for enterprise software.
As for self hosting, just try it for a few weeks. Make sure you’re backing up important stuff to the cloud backblaze is dirt cheap. If its to much work you can switch to a saas solution.
I got that same error when I was setting up my account.

FF will find it very hard to compete with chrome. Its has so much engineering talent pumped into it.
