I believe most full plate armor was hardly practical either, some being so heavy that basically required the wearer to be mounted. Most foot soldiers would wear chain armor with pieces of plate here and there, and thats only the extremely rich who could afford things like that. Full plate also heavily limited your movement, many battles by extremely well geared soldiers were lost because they couldnt out maneuver barely armored militia, or even just rain. Knights wearing full plate needed help to stand if they were toppled! Its funny when people talk about full plate being ‘practical’ and ‘realistic’ when it was mostly a sign of status, ornamental and incredibly impractical.

I should do that with banishment, my players used it to trivialise every combat encounter with multiple enemies. Instead of banishing to another plane, it could temporarily send that enemy into the future, would make for an interesting fight!

No? When you live for hundreds of years you can wait a couple of decades before going to school, maybe 50-100 to think about leaving your town, no need to rush anything. It makes sense that races that live longer would experience life at a slower pace therefore mature later in life.

What is important here is the mental maturity, not physical I believe, at least for adventuring. It would make sense that, mentally, a race that can live hundreds of years would take longer to mature

It’s interesting how people scrutinise every inch of female armor but if a male barbarian is wearing a loincloth in snow nobody cares, if a Knight wears plate armor with abs nobody cares, gladiator wears nothing except for waist armor and shoulder pads nobody cares.
