Not to mention the metal hook lock on most room doors I’ve seen that can prevent anyone from entering while you’re still inside.

1password is great!
That depends on your use case for desktop linux of course. For me, yabridge is the tool I needed to run VSTs on Linux. Its CLI only as far as I know.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not afraid of the CLI. Its just some tools are assuming the end user is a server admin or someone with deeper than the upper crust knowledge of how Linux works.
The mistake is the assumption of a certain level of end user knowledge.
Honestly, as a newbie to Linux I think the ratio of well documented processes vs. “draw the rest of the fucking owl” is too damn high.
The rule seems to be that CLI familiarity is treated as though its self-evident. The exception is a ground-up documented process with no assumptions of end user knowledge.
If that could be resolved I think it would make the Linux desktop much more appealing to wider demographics.
That said, I’m proud to say that I’ve migrated my entire home studio over to linux and have not nuked my system yet. Yet… Fortunately I have backups set up.
I’m not here to troubleshoot this issue. I don’t have the technical skill or understanding of this platform to do so.
I’m sure I’m not the only one with a working banking app. We don’t all use mainstream banks, right? There are options and I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
Thanks for insinuating I’m a liar though. That’s nice.
I’m on a Pixel 8 with GrapheneOS and a working banking app with no special fuckery because I genuinely don’t know enough about android to deviate from what’s offered in the stock Graphene experience other than using the FUTO keyboard and customizing basic settings just like everyone else.
That one use case literally invalidates the claim that banking apps don’t work. Your banking app might not work, but mine does.
Not true. I’m a Tangerine customer and have no issues at all with their app on Graphene.
Sounds like homeopathy lol
All I know is that its a feature of GrapheneOS, and is the main reason why I switched over to it.
It just doesn’t allow you to use the Android Device Policy work profile which makes it so you can’t log into Slack for work (for example) if it depends on the work policy spyware being active on your phone.
I get that for some people that’s a non-starter but for me who vehemently supports and exercises my Right To Disconnect, not having spyware on my phone for work is a good riddance.
That’s what the Google Play Sandbox is for.
The only functionality I’ve lost after migrating to a Pixel with GrapheneOS is the Android Device Policy (aka Work Profiles, the spyware your employer requires to use certain work apps)
Good riddance if you ask me lol
Give GrapheneOS a go on that Pixel!
Downvoted? Why? I’m curious to know.
I’m too skeptical to default to the whole “corporations will abide by the law” thing anymore. I’m willing to accept that I might be wrong though. There have just been too many times where I’ve pessimistically remarked on a situation like this as a sort of half joke only to find out that I was right and it was actually worse than I initially assumed.
Pure speculation.
If there are any unsecured networks in your vicinity it might be telling on you without you knowing.
Yep. All the time. Some channels have great communities.
Use a card. NFC is not a necessity.
