No rsync? No pass? I’d definitely have the xmpp and matrix protocols on that list with a few clients listed for desktop and mobile.

Threema still works.
Depends on the distro but you are largely right. You can easily use Linux Mint or Ubuntu without being familiar with the cli.
You are not too dumb to learn Linux. If I learned how to use it then you can. Start with with something simple and easy to install such as Linux Mint or Ubuntu and you will inevitably learn more as you go on. If you can read, type, point, click and observe then you have all the skills required to install the aforementioned distros.
Artist name, album name, track name, track number, album art. Album artist in the metadata. Composer, label in the metadata.
What more do you need?
The need to wait for an SMS to register a new account and the potential for recaptcha loop (which I have experienced) is a serious downside to Signal. Something I never need worry about with xmpp, matrix or threema.
xmpp has a variety of clients for desktop and mobile. You cannot dismiss them all as having worse ux than signal.
The same is true for matrix.
XMPP.
Threema.
Matrix.
Had this issue with a gmail account about 7 years ago. It has/had 2fa. Haven’t used it much since then.
Depending on the particular DAP there may be physical size and storage advantages. Furthermore most ‘premium’ smartphones do not come with a headphone jack meaning that the audio experience using a decent pair of IEMs will be an improvement on listening to music on a smartphone via a pair of wireless headphones/earbuds.
P.S. I’ve yet to come across a pair of wireless earbuds that are as comfortable or sound as good as my favorite pair of IEMs.
Some people like to enjoy their media without having to use a smartphone, they prefer to keep their smartphones as strictly communication devices. Doing so allows them to switch off entirely when at their leisure in addition to saving phone battery life.
2tb of removable storage dedicated to music and the existence of a headphone jack are significant advantages for me. Not that I would purchase this particular contraption but I understand the appeal of single function/media devices such as DAPs and ereaders.
I haven’t seen a device that takes full sized sdhc cards in at least a decade.
Libra 2. I use it outdoors often, the screen is very clear.
You sound like you haven’t used matrix in a while. I use it daily. It isn’t super slow to sync.
I use GrapheneOS but have zero contact with the so-called “community”. The project itself is awesome but as with many Linux/OS projects a lot of the people around it aren’t all the way there.
