I prefer that thing where someone sends you an invite for a month from now, and sends you a separate email with the important documents in it. At least the stuff in the calendar invite can be found from the calendar, that email you sent a month ago is not tied to the meeting in any way.

When I get the invite: “I don’t need to read those documents, the meeting is in a month.”
At the time of the meeting: “Wow they’re really unprepared, they should’ve attached documents for this meeting.”
