They’re just tools. You have to know how to use them correctly if you’re going to use them.

For example, I use chat GPT for grammar and spell check. It’s quite good at that.

It also has a pretty good moral compass so you could ask general questions about things.

But I generally agree when it comes to super pinpoint Niche things especially in one’s field, that’s not very common. It’s not great.

Although I’ve had various degrees of success with perplexity.

Edit: I realize that a lot of you don’t like people even using llms for mundane things let alone specific work analog.

But your bias is your own problem. Don’t condemn me for it.

      What. The. Fuck.

      Please don’t.

Flagship llms are trained on modern and classical philosophy.

They are able to tell the difference between right and wrong. Aside from some unique errors they do not condone or encourage violence. So you can ask them mundane questions and get decent mundane answers.

It takes five minutes to “gaslight” a LLM into condoning genocide.

Also, there are several documented cases of AI chatbots involved, one way or another, in murders and suicides.

But more importantly, LLMs cannot have a moral compass. Saying otherwise is just wishful thinking.
