I’m learning to make battlemaps on the fly. I agonize over the content of maps, so that’s probably a good thing.
We didn’t need one. One of the players almost got himself killed without any combat happening at all and after that it was just improvising and the party somehow made their way through (and even succeeded in the end. I was quite surprised)

Dude, undead is a legit good race. So yeah
Sadly I’m not a necromancer. All these things about „raising families“ were never appealing to me.

The party: “This seems like a side quest. Let’s leave.”
That just means the players think your plot is boring
You’re not being a strict enough DM then
