I came to say something similar. Evil is just generational trauma. Sometimes someone who suffers from generational trauma will choose not to continue the chain of trauma but usually the abused become the abusers.
If a whole society is built like Menzoberranzan it’d be really hard to be a good person. 99% of people who tried to be good would just die or get taken advantage of.
Just have the person murdered be killed from behind. that’s how bg3 solved it in a murder quest. None of the victims knew the killer except the person killed from behind, that person would have recognized the killer but alas they never saw their killer. Every other victim questioned just has descriptions of the killer and with 5 questions it can be challenging to get enough clues to stop the murders.
Isn’t that essentially minor illusion?
Who cares if your wares are temporarily nullified. Some scofflaw is making off with your child’s sword training money. Time to use AMF and beat them with a stick.
