Privacy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever had a meltdown because of age verification ?
3·2 months agoThus far I notice it in steam for games. But that’s just an easy birthday field. Or some pop up on sites.
With trading apps or bank apps, I do have experience with these id verification software. Which isn’t great, but apparently mandatory. Anything else I will refuse to submit id’s

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Google Starts Scanning All Your Photos As New Update Goes Live
0·2 months agoIt’s also that the existing software like the photo apps or pre installed sync apps doesn’t help either. Eg. In android it’s all automatically synced to Google drive etc. You really need to turn it all off, either later or during the first mobile setup. Those big companies make it difficult on purpose to switch to alternatives, while by default enabling their own vendor lock in software. Same for iOS. Same for MacOS and same for Microsoft Windows.
If we truly want to change the world, we need to fix the root cause. And make a better alternative to android and iOS…
It’s a bad practice to use latest tag

Technology@lemmy.ml•Copilot is now injecting ads into PR descriptions
3·2 months agoNo, so it’s still just github copilot code review (bot). https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/concepts/agents/code-review#introduction
Which is embedding this link of Raycast. Meaning Raycast is paying Microsoft for sure to get included in the bot comments or pr descriptions.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Copilot is now injecting ads into PR descriptions
9·2 months agoIt’s not a bug… It’s promoting Raycast. The initial link goes to the github docs https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/how-tos/use-copilot-agents/coding-agent/create-a-pr#asking-copilot-to-create-a-pull-request-from-raycast
Which again points to https://www.raycast.com/
This is indeed the plan. Only 1 time is enough to get this through the system. But it requires 500 times saying no first.

I use Grafana (with telegraf, Angie plugin etc.). Feel free to use any of my public available dashboards of mine: https://grafana.com/orgs/webmaster1989
EDIT: Specially, I would like to highlight: https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/24461-angie-metrics/ and https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/21989-server-stats/
And finally a dedicated status dashboard: https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/15226-melroy-s-status-dashboard/
I bought the server hardware 3 years ago, so when the prices of ram were also fine. Today it’s not fun anymore… I really hope those ram and nvne prices go down again! I can’t upgrade anything now.
Fact. I only use more then 1gbit/s for file transfers internally between computers or between the server and a computer.
10gbit fiber locally doesn’t mean I have this speed to the internet (I’m not).

So these are called apps in nextcloud. You can actually create a group and put your user to that group. Then you can include and exclude groups from applications.
This is possible in nextcloud. That way only you for example can see the email app.
