I know some jewellers in my neighbourhood can:

1. Shut the metal, anti-theft blinds in front of the door and windows
2. Notify the police

With a single button or switch under the counter-top.

I could borrow that in a TTRPG set in modern times or some Sci-Fi future. It could work in a medieval setting as a kind of magic trap.

“Sleeping to regain hit points, multiple times a day, even when in a high speed chase” is up there for me.

Like, if something would need a DC 25 Acrobatics check, I ask the player “Wait, how high is your character’s Acrobatics? +3? Ah no sorry, you can’t do that.”

I agree, and if I think an DC might be too high for a player, I just ask them first “Wait, what’s your <skill here>?”

No reason to hate acronyms; they make communication much more efficient!
They are annoying when you’re not in the clique that knows about them, I’ve found they can be hard to look up.
