My work IT policy would not let me change that setting, infuriatingly. They said it was a money saving initiative to keep our inboxes small. This is necessary because we use MS Cloud services, which charges by the electron or something.

I know exactly what you mean! I used to call it “computer knows best”.
At home I avoid all MS products because CKB drives me nuts. At work, they tell me what software to use. :(
You work somewhere where the IT policy allows you to change the setting. Lucky
Edmonton has come a long way since I lived there. I had to source hamster meat from Toronto

11·2 months agoWhy would this deserve an Ig Nobel prize? The implications of this study are important and highly relevant to the social predicament that western societies face. This is science getting directly to the root of the problem with humanity. If we want to hand out prizes ridiculing useless science, maybe consider baldness treatments etc. (hats already exist).

Seriously, though, people worry way too much about what other people think. Mostly, they are thinking about their own shit and not you at all.
Maybe it is just an analogy (specifically metaphor). If it were in simile form, you would write "Trump dying is like a bowl of Pad Thai … "
