Never said she wasn’t effectly relying information. Just pointing out that the video is mostly just rehashing old information and if you’re even vaguely familiar with privacy issues of the last 70 years then you probably are already aware of most of the information provided. Seems like you have a chip on your shoulder.

Privacy@lemmy.world•The terrifying reality of the internetEnglish
11·3 months agoI watched about 5min of it. Short version, she sits in front of a camera a various locations, gives brief descriptions and snippits of documents of major events and policies over the past 70 years that have erroded public privacy.
If you’re old enough to have experienced the Snowden event and have kept a pulse on privacy issues, then you can probably skip it.

science@lemmy.world•Computer model could enable bridges and buildings that use less materialEnglish
11·4 months agoI’ve never heard a good engineer ever say “let’s use an unnecessary amount of material”, usually engineers say “this is what you need to achieve the goal and this is why…”. Then management adds contingency while trying to also cut cost, then the project manager orders material too early to drive revenue and it expires or get lost, then the crew always has waste, the list goes on.
Efficient engineering is rarely the problem, but if there’s a tool that reliably makes my job easier and faster then sure, bring it on
