Maybe, but I don’t think it’s worth it. With a gas car, you stand idle at the pump for a few minutes making sure that nothing bursts into flames or gas doesn’t overflow. Charging an EV isn’t like that. They’ve got about 5 seconds of your time at the most.

Finally, it’s my 144Hz gaming monitor’s time to shine. I’ll be done like 50 years sooner than the rest of you losers.

Maybe I’m just old and stuck in my ways, but I don’t see the upside here. Why would I need Google’s AI to be able to tell the tone of my messages and respond appropriately. They’re my messages. People send me messages to talk to me. In what world do I want to remove myself from that process?

If my wife texts me and says “when are you going to be home from work?” I don’t want an AI looking at my chat history and making a guess. I want to tell her what I have going on right now and respond. If a friend asks me if I wanna hang out this weekend, I don’t want AI checking my calendar and seeing I’m free and then agreeing to plans. I want to think about it and come to a decision myself.

Can someone smarter than me point to an actual good use case for this?

Ah man, this just made me remember how much I miss the daily Konsi comics.

Do modern IDEs allow for setting different fonts for comments, human written code, Copilot written code, etc? I don’t do much actual coding these days, so it’s been a while. I’m used to just seeing different colors but for things like comments and reserved words, but not fonts like they showed in the examples.

What makes this unique is that they’re saying this allows for different fonts in the same piece of code. So you could have comments in one font, your code in another, AI written code in another, etc. Looks like all the fonts are the same size, so everything still aligns nicely.
