My old irl group had a lot of diversity in the games we ran. My personal favorite was Trail of Cthulhu
This is a man who knows how to gling. He is glinging. Yesterday, he _____.

Everything is correct except the last line, but only because I have poured a tremendous amount of effort into it (and I still slip up sometimes). Making the person I’m talking to not feel judged or condescended to is actually my most well-developed skill, very important for the education field.
My character is 17 (actually 23 due to dimesional fuckery), has published a math textbook, and is trying really hard to not murder people anymore. He’s also firmly on the blue and orange morality spectrum, loves teaching literally anything at any time, and is disgusted by the concept of the afterlife. Fun guy. Wonder what a therapist would make of him
Totally agree, shadowrun is so much fun, and the setting (especially in Germany) has so many fun details
Personally, as a DM I get tired of how many different intelligent species there are. It makes worldbuilding very hard. I tried carving out space for each of them, but it wasn’t worth it. These days I prefer to just get rid of most races, but it’s a bit hard to tell which ones to keep.
Yeah, that’s the gripe we have with both of them.
Haste, Slow, and Dispel Magic are mandatory. If you are playing in a heroic fantasy campaign, Fireball and Fly are also essentially mandatory. Otherwise, Tongues is the popular pick.
No, this works in Pathfinder too. There is a very obvious meta and people follow it.
Tbh the only person I would be devastated to find out is a huge sexist would be Dave Arneston.
Talking to my Steel Defender. But yes, I am a warlock. And I was wrong, he didn’t have a soul, he had TWO souls. Inside this wolf there are two wolves. One wolf wants to be a good boy for his master, and the other wants to be a good boy for his maker’s Patron. And they hate each other.
“Come on, I know you have a soul for some fucking reason! Fess up! Who’s your daddy?”
Don’t Japanese speakers call Japan something closer to Nippon? So it’s even closer than that.
Also, as a LOTR weirdo, the thing that made me laugh was how the mountain range around Orienta is exactly the same as the mountains around Mordor right down to the location of the gates, just rotated slightly. And then right to the left there is Land of Evil-Doom, where the mountains SHOULD HAVE BEEN
In the last session, my party, who have been having a great time doing quests for my warlock patron, have suddenly realized that maybe they’re a bad dude after they killed a child (using the Rogue like a puppet to do so) and then had us brand our children with their symbol. Now they know why I have been so reticent and cryptic for the whole campaign.
Personally I’m just relieved that we finally are all on the same page. It was a bit frustrating seeing the Rogue get sucked into the cult and ignoring all the big red flags on the path to hell.
You’re the first Karen I’ve seen on lemmy.
This is in reference to the 5e rules. You know, the line they are ready to replace?
The best card game out there right now is the Digimon tcg. The games are fast and they simply do not do box chaff. And of all the current tcgs, it’s got the biggest actual playerbase outside of Yu-Gi-Oh.
Alternatively, the Pokemon card game is fully owned by Nintendo now. They aren’t doing a great job with it IMHO, but a lot of people do collect the cards.
Too little too late tbh
Honestly the theological debates are what drew me into loving the setting
Thank you for the kind warning, stranger. I will heed your words.
Easy enough that I had to read your comment a few times to read it with the non-aggro tone you intended lol
The hard part is when there’s a community built around a game system with its own traditions and rituals. That’s never in the books. This is only an issue with bigger systems like V:tM, Pathfinder, and Shadowrun, but you just need to learn to play them from other people just like you learned to play D&D.
