I fully agree with you, but I think we are picturing kids at the opposite ends of childhood. In my head we are talking about little kids that are very young and just learning things like impulse control and what is fair. The smear of the very few pixels left in the OP’s image gave me the impression that we were dealing with someone pretty young. But if we’re dealing with older kids, then the dynamic does change dramatically. If your teenager is physically lashing out at other kids then we are dealing with someone with behavioral problems (both child and parents) and that does need a much stronger correction.

Violence was the wrong answer. But a swift and strong reaction to defend someone being bullied is something to praise. At a time when a large portion of society is actively trying to demote women to the position of being property instead of people with equal rights, that instinct is even more important to encourage.
So, while violence would normally be something that is met with swift punishment of its own to try to correct the child’s behavior, in this case, the balance tips a bit the other way. In this case the kid was already ejected from the game and the parent decided that was enough of a punishment without needing to add additional punishment. Some people feel that there should also be some reward to encourage the instinctive feeling.
I have not seen any response so far that denies that ejection was not warranted as a punishment for the violence.
As a parent you have to be conscious of the lessons you teach your children. Harsh retaliation to anything that the kid does wrong will end up squashing their ability to act for themselves or stand up for themselves. In fact it may even lead to them becoming a bully.
They have been purposely fucking shit up for a long time. They just keep layering more shit on so there’s never a chance of any real progress.

6·22 days agoDan Quayle was an idiot, so nobody wanted him anyway (back when we had standards for a president), but I never understood the “potatoe” issue. At the time potatoe and tomatoe weren’t just common, they were taught in school. It’s what I was taught in school all the way up to the Dan Quayle incident.
They have been told that their sky daddy will actively judge their lives and they will get what sky daddy thinks they deserve. They have been told this so often and in so many ways that they now worship money. Money becomes the way for them to tell how sky daddy judges their lives. Obviously, this means that those who have more money are more beloved by sky daddy and therefore should be listened to and obeyed.
They are taking money from a billionaire to just piss it away on nonsense. I’m not sure if I can really hate them for that.
Wait, your clothes don’t change color when you sweat?
I wonder how true that actually is? I generally subscribe to the theory that you have to do some horrible shit to a lot of people to hit 1billion. With that comes the automatic assumption that Billionaires are corrupt people. But I wonder how much of it is sheer stupidity blinding them to the damage that they reek on everyone else.
And I suspect it won’t be difficult to tell. Oh no, who could be the imposter? Is it the only guy that weighs less than 350lbs and isn’t squeezed into a tactical vest 2 sizes too small?

18·2 months agoEdit: Just to be clear, this is a pro leash comment.
My kids are very well behaved, not just compared to other ADHD, but to any other kid. However, let them pass the ADHD tipping point where they are too tired, excessively stimulated, over sugared, or god forbid, all 3 at the same time, and they will do the most insane shit just because 2 neurons accidentally bumped together and gave them some stray thought.

Exactly! For 16 years in a row the “don’t bother to vote” people got direct and repeated proof of just how useless and stupid that plan was.
It wasn’t until people got so sick of it that they finally decided to do something useful instead of just sitting around and complaining.
