Lead ammunition is ONLY illegal statewide in California, and nationwide for waterfowl ONLY. You can still purchase and use lead bird shot for birds other than waterfowl. I can go down to Fleet Farm and get leaded ammo right now no problem.
You can 1000% still get lead birdshot and it is 100% legal to use in most states, with the exceptions being for a statewide ban in California, and waterfowl where it is illegal to use nationwide.

Since a few people in the thread seem to think lead ammunition is illegal in the US, it’s not. It’s only illegal for shooting waterfowl nationwide, and entirely banned in the state of California.
