I think that a lot of the “laziness” comes from alienation from your labour. People are going to work the least amount to get their paycheck and if their job doesn’t account for the effort they put in, they aren’t going to do anything but the bare minimum.

Yeah, it’s even better than GMaps for me, because GMaps doesn’t have bike navigation (where I live) while Organic Maps has all the bike lanes marked and navigatable.

Organic Maps is great. Recently learned about Geo Share, which makes my job doing deliveries possible with Organic Maps. It basically redirects gMaps links to Organic Maps (even from food delivery apps).
Forgot to say that yes, CalyxOS does have microG, though you don’t need to log into Google to download apps from Aurora. Login is only required for apps from Google (like maps, gmail etc).
I also got the Fairphone 5 because of the used price! Mine was 300€ with a slightly burned in screen (it was used as a store display model), though I only notice it when on a completely white screen and looking for it.
(IMHO) CalyxOS is a good balance between security and usability. Better than LineageOS, worse than GrapheneOS (and DivestOS).
Yeah, I myself am using CalyxOS, because DivestOS doesn’t support the Fairphone 5 unfortunately. CalyxOS also has relocking.
I don’t think LOS has any privacy/security improvements over the stock android?
(IIRC) it’s even worse than stock because you can’t lock the bootloader after installation.
Though if your phone isn’t getting official updates, it’s probably safer with LOS.
Tried it once over my phone’s hotspot, had no issues with latency.
You could use “Alpaca” flatpak and remove the internet access with flatseal after having downloaded the model. (Linux)
Or deny the app’s access to internet in app settings. (Android)
And if you want to be 100% sure that Alpaca doesn’t send any info anywhere, you can restrict it’s network access in Flatseal as it’s a flatpak.
