Many of my friends use Discord but I also use Matrix and I prefer that. This is a Signal/WhatsApp like situation.
If Discord starts shoving them ads maybe I can bring some people over to a more secure platform easily.
If it wasn’t a privacy nightmare maybe I will consider paying, but data theft + ads? Naaaah.

Can you share other alternatives that are fully opensource to create a knowledge base? The only services I know similar to these are notebook managers.
If you are using encrypted rooms the messages you send cannot be seen by the server admin. Yeah, they can check with which users and rooms you are talking to but not the content of the messages.
I think you are confusing privacy with anonymity.
What I was refering when I said rights is the right to decide whether if they should use my private info or not.
