To each their own.

China Mieville’s books ‘The Scar’ and ‘Perido Street Station’ are great at giving information without hitting you over the head.
For instance, there’s a tavern called 'The Moon’s Two Daughters." From the description of the sign [two girls dancing around the Moon] we learn that Earth’s Moon now has satellites of its own.
The problem is that I can’t just explain to the technically uneducated people that I changed mail providers. How should I go about doing this?
Speaking as a nontech person, I can assure you that none of us care in the slightest.
Just give us the new address and we’ll change it. We might curse you for making us do the work, but probably we’ll feel like badasses when we do it in only three hours.
DC comics came up with this idea years ago.
The GI Joe team fighting vampires, aliens, and the Devil Himself.
For some reason , it wasn’t a giant smash hit

New York City is moving away from people paying for subway/bus rides with a pre-paid card or cash and going to a system where you pay with your credit card or smart wallet. Nice way to quietly monitor everyone’s location and habits.

UnLunDun by Neil Gaiman has a similar idea. There’s a Chosen One, great heroine, and her plucky sidekick. The heroine gets sidelined and it’s up to the sidekick to actually save the day.
why would the party be asking about the other members?
Look up old time writer Damon Runyon. His short stories inspired the musical ‘Guys And Dolls.’ He wrote about Times Square and the showgirls, gamblers, crooks, bar flies, social workers, servers, bouncers, general riff raff, and hoi polloi that he’d seen.
It’s common in his stories for people to strike up a conversation with a stranger and ask about what’s going on. Even a small time hustler will be known by sight, and a stranger in town is evaluated.
Also, remember that when you ask A about B, A is telling you a lot about themselves. In ‘Stranger Things,’ the boys warn the new girl that the town is full of bullies, which tells her that these are the kids who get bullied.
Take a comic book character like Bruce Wayne of Peter Parker. Someone could take one look at them and come up with some dirt. Remember, it doesn’t have to have anything to do with reality. Every pretty girl is a slut, a snob, or a dope. Every big guy is a bully, a moron, or a cream puff.
Roger Zelazny wrote that he’d sometimes do an entire story about a minor character in order to flesh him out in his mind.
That’s a great idea for any kind of character development.
I’m stealing it.

Amazon antitrust lawsuit going on as we speak.
Then I’ll explain it.
Laws decide what large companies can and can not do to gather data. Politicians decide those laws. Who you vote for decides what policies are enacted. If the current parties aren’t working to help you, you might have to go out and search for better candidates.
If you’re not American, substitute any pro-Fascist candidate you choose for ‘Donald Trump.’
If voting doesn’t matter, why is Trump so mad about automatic voter registration?
You not voting makes Donnie and his friends happy.
In 1968, a bunch of hippies opened up a ‘Dick Gregory for President’ office. They had enough money for the first month’s rent and phone, and figured that they would make a small impact. Somehow, someone kept paying the office rent and phone for months.
You not voting is exactly what the people you hate want you to do.
The would candidates care if people bring up the issue.
If lots of people let their voices be heard, the pols will listen.
You can wait around for the perfect candidate to come along, or you can work to make the change happen.
This is why you vote in every election.
My point would be that the poster is going to a university that has access to all their records, plus they are still part of their parents’ data.
If you haven’t seen it, ‘The Wild Bunch’ with William Holden is a great ride.
