Not sure how excited I will be due to the economic repercussions such an event would have, and I might miss ChatGPT, but I am damn well aware that the longer this keeps on going the worse the repercussions will become.

Well they fired a lot of people, which means that the people that are not fired need to become more productive in order to keep up… but indeed the quality has been going down for many services.

I think I figured it out. Seems like due to my instance not being that active, many PieFed communities are not searchable because nobody interacted with them from my instance. After I input the specific community in the URL, and thén try to search, i can find it through the search function on my instance…

That is not true. I made a Lemmy account around the time they started fucking with the API, if I remember correctly. I wasn’t that active here because I felt like the content was very limited and the people too radical.
Now that my Reddit account has been restricted because “you need to verify your age” 🤡 Not just NSFW stuff restricted, the whole site is restricted for my account. Can’t even access my account settings anymore. (I really should figure something out but alas I care too little).
That’s why I have become more active here. No other options.
Can somebody explain to me the differences between Lemmy and Piefed? It seems I am unable to access Piefed communities but they are amongst us. Has this to do with my specific instance not being federated with them or am I missing something else?
The use case of Discord is not meant to be open… it is meant to provide a chat room hidden from the public. That is the whole point of Discord or other chat clients like that.
It is like choosing to ask your friend whether they can help you, that isn’t open information either.

Keep in mind that trackers detected from browsers are usually not from the browser themselves, but moreso from the websites you visit through the browser.
I don’t know what the reason is… I’m on a Pixel 9 Pro XL with GrapheneOS, also with Ironfox, I can load that page just fine… I turned off the private DNS in my Ironfox settings though, so that might be the reason it’s working for me… I had a lot of load problems in general if I had private DNS enabled.
I personally don’t use Proton Drive (yet), however, anything that starts supporting Linux is a good development.

I am aware of this possibility and its likelihood, but even so, it will be bad. Not all of the companies are too big to fail. Just the big ones like OpenAI and Anthropic.
