Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg pulled a surprise out of his enchanted bag of holding for viewers of the company’s annual Meta Connect product summit on Wednesday: An artificial intelligence version of Snoop Dogg playing “The Dungeon Master.”
Just imagine how insufferable the meetings were with the Silicon Valley tech bros pushing this idea.
This is the worst timeline.
“I mean, who hasn’t wanted to play a text adventure game with Snoop Dogg?”
Well, me, for one.
Who will actually use this? Anyone with the means to do so will try it out for five minutes (or maybe one session) before saying “Alright that was fun, now let’s get back to playing for real” and shut it off.
It’s a novelty and they know it. Nobody is playing a full rizzdizz campaignizzle.
Maybe that is enough? They could publish one with Robin Williams next week. Then Neil Armstrong. Play with dead-person-of-the-week could go in for quite a while.
Yeah, that could be fun. But then I start to wonder if their families will actually receive royalties for it, not to mention the inability to get consent from the dead.
