Conflating writing software with using github is hilarious

I stopped using github when they held my account hostage. Told me I had 2 months to set up 2fa.
Realized I don’t even need github for anything and if I want to share my source code, I’ll just put it up on my site.

Claude is a common name. I would assume that someone has already had an account named that since the very beginning of github.

I’m not understanding how people know that this is an ai agent. Do people really just have no lives so they dig into it more?
Item #9 on the roadmap
Fluxer wants to have a ‘monetization’ to give payouts to ‘creators.’ Hard pass.
My wife and I have been using Stoat and it’s been mostly fine, but they’re already implementing age verification.
Stoat being based in UK makes me nervous as their laws are ridiculous. Devs claim that they are going to try to only apply draconian things when necessary but I have my doubts.

I’m surprised the corpos haven’t pushed for a new word with less baggage. That’s exactly the sort of thing they do when you don’t reign them in

If you have to react to advertising you’re already doing it wrong. If it’s able to reach you on your hardware in any form, you’ve already failed.

Are there really enough braindead consumers out there to make this viable?
Try not having a phone at all. Those conversations are fun

I hate when I see github links. I have to open them in a private window because they wrecked my account by requiring 2fa and later claiming that there was something wrong with my email address. Worthless site.
Not to mention, MicroShaft being in charge of github is like the fox being in charge of the chicken coop.

I was mainly going off this poll and a few others that had similar results. I do see Japan is a bit of an outlier, but they still seem to view AI more favorably than the US and Europe.

In Japan and China people are actually optimistic about AI.
It’s not the tech itself, it’s the fact that in some countries, new technology is used for power and control instead of lifting everyone.

Sounds like maybe webapps are a bad idea then.
If they need dynamism, how about releasing a desktop application?

maybe I’ve been living under a rock but I don’t get all this emphasis on hosting. What’s wrong with having a file on your device that you just play when you want to

Continue not using a phone as always

Is it? It still works while so-called newer/better technology goes to the landfill within years.

Lichess is a lot more liberal with what it considers a mistake. I guess chess.com needs to butter you up.
Even if it were, which I obviously disagree with, that’s not an excuse to hold someone’s longstanding account hostage
