19·9 days agoA good way to force the user to use by Google controlled devices and to download Google services for more control by Google. Also a good way that the user show the middle finger to Google, using alternatives.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How Google Tracks Everything You Do and How to Stop It
12·10 days agoGoogle can track you even if you don’t use any of it’s services or products. Beginning with half the websites in internet, most from the US, use googleanalytics, google-tagmanager and sending data to Alphabet, adding information from Cloudflare and also mobile data, among others. Not so easy to avoid Google, less using YT, only possible to avoid the worst spying. One measure is to use EU apps and services insted of those from the US.
I always used Bandcamp as mainsource to listen music of my favorite bands (if present). For general background music mostly https://www.internet-radio.com/ or https://www.radio.net/genre (genre specific channels, 24/7)
I’m aware of Mesh nets, also about grid communication (using the electric net), back to the paleolitic Finger protocol.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Amazon, Facebook, ICE, and FBI have access to a private intelligence-sharing network
4·14 days agoNever was only for targeted ads, because of the lack of a privacy right policy in the US, your data is open for everyone, also for gov and security agencies. All your data in these services are owned by these. Even when you cancel your account, your data remain there forever.
