I’ll figure something out when it happens.

Polygamy is just an easier way to find consistent players.
Uuuh… Jim once became the BBEG in a story arc I GMed in masks.
I set myself the challenge that whoever the Bull character first selects as their rival will somehow be one of the main bosses of the first storyline.
So they chose the random security guy named Jim who was tasked with watching the group during prep for a press event.
So J.I.M. was born. Juggernaut infiltration Mercenary program made by some lex Luther type ceo to create super soldiers. And Jim was one of them gone rogue.
It’s an adventure the group still remembers very fondly.
D100. I’m going d4 on that table.
It’s totally fine if a group of people who never played just start though.
First time GM with first time players. That’s how I think most groups started before online play became so common.
The good thing about TTRPGs is that even in that scenario, they are still great fun.

191·1 year agoRight? For me the free as in freedom always had the upside and downside of people have the freedom to use it how they want. Within the very lenient license which might be in use of course. This can include the freedom to do things with the software which the creators and contributors might not agree with or like.
But in the end a certain trust in humanity and the concept of freedom itself mean that we believe the net sum of making your software free will be positive for everyone. And to this day I haven’t managed to become enough of a cynic to change my mind on this.
Its possible to dicuss licenses which helps prevent certain abuse cases. In fact those already exist. However people talk like this is the main issue of FOSS which I don’t think it is at all.
That’s awesome and really shows we can learn skills which dont align with our natural tendencies.
Also I find it hilarious and a bit scary how accurate this was then.
You are immature for your age and try to now grow up. You think you are smarter than most people, which you are, but not by as much as you think. For that reason you struggle with impostor syndrome and hold yourself back from achieving the career you actually want. But still you manage to come off as condescending to people around you.
Please don’t take this seriously.

I didn’t. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll have a listen.
- run more Blades in the Dark
- switch my 5e group over to pf2e after our campaign finishes
- run an exploration based campaign (currently looking at Quest for the Frozen flame Pathfinder adventure path)
- formalize, trim down and focus the concept of my own RPG game system down to something properly testable for a whole session

In our group everyone brings snacks. Then we have way too many snacks. We store snacks and they last for another session or two. Then one session we are out and noone brought snacks so we run without snacks. The next time everyone brings snacks and we have too many again. Rinse and repeat.
We call it the ebb and flow of the RPG snackage.
I GMed the second year of our DnD 5e campaign which runs every other week. We went through the official modules Waterdeep Dragonheist and then on to Dungeon of the Mad Mage. We are currently at the final battle of the 4th level of the dungeon. The heroes will be level 8 after the battle. It’s just such a nice group and I am happy we manage to play for so long without any major breaks.
In my second group which is every other week alternating with the first one we had the GM drop out after a little over half a year mid campaign. I offered to run Pathfinder 2e for the first time and it went great. The party is level 5 now and close to the end of the small campaign I prepared. Maybe 2 or 3 more sessions to wrap up. I made up the campaign myself but set it in the world of Golarion. GMing Pathfinder was a blast and I highly prefer it over dnd now. It’ll be my go to system once the mad mage campaign ends which might well be another 2 years. After my Pathfinder campaign ends another player will GM Storm King’s Thunder which we already got characters for and began to play when I couldn’t make prep work in time since GMing 2 groups is a lot for my schedule.
Lastly I began offering beginner one shots in Pathfinder 2e in my flgs and it’s been absolutely awesome. People routinely buy PF books right there at the store after the session ends which is probably the biggest compliment. The beginner box is great for that.
I’m working on a proper dnd 5e beginner adventure similar to the Pathfinder box since the dnd sets aren’t really beginner friendly at all nor do they have proper matirials at the ready.
All in all I had a fantastic RPG year. I hope things can keep going like this in the future.
We use German as common and Dwarves are Bavarian.

Now that’s just unrealistic expectations.
