This is the way. Became enlightened a couple years back and have enjoyed the dry briefs since then. It was always that last drop that stuck around.

I go for more of the cow-milking squeeze and pull, to coax that last drop out into the appropriate location (a/k/a not my pants).

2·5 days agoYeah, I’m generally pretty good, but I think it’s not uncommon, when you get real into the weeds on shit, for things to become ambiguous.
I had to look up the word inculcate, so thanks.

2·5 days agoLife is so complicated, especially now that I guess we’re kind of tasked with imparting some knowledge on our kids. I try to think about how I learned, and I like to think it was entirely from experience, but you absolutely absorb some of what you hear and see from your parents.
I tell them to be giving, but sometimes you have to be selfish; be nice, but sometimes you gotta be firm with people. I basically tell them every person is out there living their own life, they have their own motivations, and you can’t waste time wondering what someone else’s definition of right and wrong is, and to just stick to your guns and don’t be a doormat. And then I second guess myself, because I still have no idea what’s going on.

5·5 days agoYes, we must all be the change we want in the world.
Yeah, I dunno. If you’re 16, maybe have some scruples about who you fuck. Unfortunately, other 16 year olds will be cruel about shit. And this ain’t to say don’t fuck the weird, ugly, whoever, just have a good reason for doing it, I guess, you care about the person or some shit.
If you’re 26, go out there and have fun, nothing matters and your peer group has matured and nobody gives a fuck.
I know that seems sad, but it’s also reality, and I’m going to unfortunately have to coach my daughter in such a way that she avoids some shit that I witnessed in high school, the same shit I know many people here witnessed. And if the way to avoid being that victim is to maybe be choosy (or maybe don’t go fucking people til you’re a bit older, which is also going to be my advice with drugs and alcohol), then do that.
Yeah, ours is fortunately a State Park, and gets maintained. The path is about 4-6 feet wide, depending, pea gravel the whole way, so good for walking, biking, whatever. You’ll see people on the canal in the warmer months. It’s a great resources and I’m fortunate to live so close to it.
Go out there and make the Friends of the Canal group, and demand the change to a maintained canal!
Yeah, I live in Jersey (New), and we have the Delaware and Raritan Canal, named after the rivers it connects. Was actually used for a bit, and the idea of using it is fascinating. But now it’s a 44-mile path and waterway through history, it’s very nice.
I have visited maps-dot-com so many times, because of one mistake.
I do a fresh install of my OS every time I turn my computer off. Better safe than not safe.

8·1 month agoI would be okay with it if it was all leading to a post-money society and it allowed art and trchnooogy to be created for whomever to access. But it ain’t, someone else is just getting rich off it.
Agreed. They’re outwardly health conscious, although they have no problem putting random shit in their bodies if it makes them healthier.
My generation, we were poisoning ourselves with booze, but we know what booze is.
And I think it’s even broader: If I’m drinking water, I’m not buying any other drinks. I’m not supporting the economy, I’m only drinking water.

25·2 months agoLemmy cannot stand jokes while we currently live in a world.
Don’t be nitpicky it’s annoying, you got the point. We’re making jokes about microwaves here.
EDIT: And to add, it lets you do a max of 99 seconds, but the didgits are 00:00, so you either do 99s or 1:39. So 4:44 is 4m44s.
Yeah my microwave lets me put 99 seconds in, and that’s the highest I will go. In fact, I only put multiples of 11 in, because it’s the quickest, just bing-bang-start.
On the rare occasion I’m microwaving something that requires, say, 5 minutes, it gets 444 and we hope for the best.
We do this during shows, especially if we’re on a later season. I haven’t legit binge watched anything in years, I’m breaking hour-long episodes in half most of the time.
Yeah, my go-to response is always “I’m watching the same thing you are.” And maybe that’s how I handle “we don’t know yet,” versus “pay attention to the movie” when we do know.

American version:
Protesting is a right, taught in school.
Grab family, go to protest.
Protest turns violent because of hidden cops. Mom gets shot. Dad loses job. Family loses house.
Die.
